The Community team consists of Alex Connolly and Oisin Ralph, members of the team with a natural affinity for exploring ways to improve our local communities and wider society.
Recruitment
Over the past few months we’ve been working on policies and processes that make our recruitment process more equitable and inclusive. Being more cognisant of our audiences, language and the coding within language, implicit biases and ensuring we hold ourselves to the standards of being an equal opportunity employer.
We have achieved this through the introduction of:
Inclusive Language & Recruitment Policy
While this is something we would have been conscious of over the years, within the past year year we’ve put together a formal policy that outlines more efficiently how we should conduct ourselves in our external communications.
This policy will provide a guideline to ensure that all new job listings will be analysed for inclusive language and equitable requirements, with our goal of eliminating any unintentional barriers to employment. We will continuously review and update our job listings to ensure they are fair and unbiased.
EDI Statement
We have implemented a statement to be included within all of our job listing descriptions that outlines our commitment to cultivating an equitable, inclusive and diverse workforce and culture.
Blind Portfolio Review
The introduction of this process removes any and all identifiable factors of the potential applicant before being presented to the respective hiring team. These include, but are not limited to, gender, race, ethnicity, sexuality, class, etc.
Civic Engagement
Being more involved in our communities, and being in a position to give back to these communities or wider society is something that is quite important to us. As a result of this we have:
