Environment Team

The Environment team consists of Cat Robertson and Ciara McGovern. They worked together to first understand wove’s impact in relation to the environment before defining ways, means and policy for improving it.

What we’ve achieved to date

We began measuring

We can’t manage what we can’t measure and we can’t measure what we can’t understand. So in 2023 our efforts have focused on understanding and measuring our usage and impact. We helped our team record and reflect on their consumption across 3 areas; waste, water and energy and used this qualitative insight into peoples behavior to make meaningful recommendations for improvement.

We up-skilled

Environmental sustainability is a large and complex topic and to enhance our studio's understanding and approach to it, Cat Robertson, with wove’s support, undertook and finished a certificate in Design for Sustainability and Circular Economies. This knowledge has directly influenced our business policies and services we provide to our clients.

We’ve moved to 100% renewable energy

In Q1 2023, under the recommendation of the environment team, the wove studio made the switch 100% renewable power.

We moved to 100% green hosting

Since 2022 100% of the websites we develop are hosted with green hosting providers.

We implemented a food policy

Wove operates a hybrid working model, with 70% of the team working from home on a daily basis. But every 6 weeks we gather in the studio to work together. We have created a food policy for these days that reduces single use packaging and promotes sustainable food options; vegetarian, vegan and produce from regenerative farming.
