Governance Team

The Governance team consists of Johnny Kelly and Scott Burnett. They have worked together since the late 90’s. In 2003 they set up a company together that was to eventually become the wove we know today.

What we’ve achieved to date

For the first time in over 20 years(!);

• We have a mission statement, something for everyone to get behind and work towards.
• We have set clear structures, defined what sits within them, and made this information and ways of working clear and visible to everyone on the team.
• We have created a diverse board of directors with representation from outside the company.
• We have defined the necessary policies and rules for employment.
• We have begun the process of empowering the team to help make decisions for themselves, and their immediate team, based on the companies financial information.

What we aim to improve

Financial Transparency.

What it is: We want everybody to understand how their company is doing from a financial perspective and to be empowered to make decisions that impact the business and their own personal fortune.

How we do it: We currently meet up every 6 weeks in the studio to discuss different matters and take the opportunity to work with each other IRL. And twice a year, in Jan and July, these meeting include a financial presentations including a P&L for the previous 6 months. We want to create a shared area on notion whereby everybody has access to this information which is updated monthly.

To do this we need to set the appropriate policy to outline expectations and how it works. We also need to ensure that the team feel empowered rather than pressured and to this end we will monitor roll out and use of the facility with the view to improving over time.

How it is measured: This is a yes/no measurement, in that it will either be delivered or not.

When: We are aiming to deliver this by Q2 2024.
