Workers Team

The Workers team consisted of Grace McGinn and Eadaoin Hennessy before Eadaoin’s recent departure for pastures greener😢. Together they worked on wove’s impact in relation to the team, evaluating contributions to their financial security, health & safety, wellness, career development, and engagement & satisfaction.

What we’ve achieved to date

We used the questions on workers from the Bcorp accreditation process as a guide to where we needed to focus our efforts. Thinking about how we could support people in a variety of different scenarios at work, how we could improve on what we already did and articulate them in a way that everyone can understand. Some key examples of this are as follows;

What we aim to improve

Wellness Day

What it is: A wellness day is a leave day that can be taken by a member of team at very short notice notice. The purpose of it is to benefit your physical or mental well-being. It’s not a sick day, rather it’s an ‘I’m looking after myself day’.

How we do it: We need to introduce a policy for it, bring the team through the policy and finally, enter it in the employee manual.

How it’s measured: The policy will be developed by the end of the year and it will be presented at the Wove Day in January 2024 by the Bcorp workers team.

When: We are aiming to deliver this by Q1 2024.
